Funny how that foam brakes up with age,the seats come out okay,on the seat squab where the pivot bolts come through i cover those arm thing/metal bracket with a peace of vinyl help to stop the seat base cover from tearing

Took my machine for a drive with my better half and our dogs out to East Lulworth. We stopped to look at the view at Povington Hill.

Found out why the front roof rail locks had become such a piggie to lock since I replaced the phosphor bits in the screen top rail.

They are not machined quite far enough to clear the locking pins. A short session with a file fixed that.

Got the Stag out of the garage for the first time in 5 weeks, started fine and I left fast idling with a bit of choke whilst she warmed through. Closed the garage door and as I walked back I could see fluid dropping onto the Tarmac under the car. Finger tip taste test said fuel!

Turned engine off asap and gingerly opened the bonnet, to find fuel leaking out of the hose where it entered the underbonnet fuel filter, and running down the inner wing soaking everything. Only need a turn of the screw on the clamp to stop it. Disaster avoided, but this afternoon I shall go through all the other hose clips checking for tightness.

Worth checking occasionally I think, as it was OK when I last checked about three months ago.

Had a Breeze Breaker delivered this morning, with matching beige tonneau cover.
Fitted it then went for an evening pic-nic to our favourite local beauty spot. A cracking piece of kit!! but most importantly, Her Battleship approved of it.

Anyway must go, I'm going to cash in some of my "Browny Points"!!

Congrats DavidW - they are special aren't they? Measure you enjoyment in smiles per mile. Find a local tunnel or multi story car park and change up and down through the gears blipping the throttle, it gets addictive.

Hi how did you remove them ? I have been trying to remove the Phos Bronze bit from a locking plate that I am taking to be rechromed.

                          Thanks

Take the stainless cover plate off (many screws, don't drop them like I did) then the phosphor locking plates are secured by two screws each into the screen header rail. Easy to remove and replace, but the new ones need fettling.

Thanks unfortunately in the lock plates behind the B post it seems the inserts are held in a different way with very small tabs. i have tried to bend these tabs up but am afraid to exert to much force and snap them off.

                                Any suggestions gratefully received
