Whilst researching parts prices for my forthcoming engine rebuild, I noticed on the Rimmers website it has a modified water jacket (or was it transfer housing - I can't remember?) for sale. Does anyone know what this mod is and should I consider it please?

I notice Rimmers have new heads on sale to order now at £3175!
Yes I notice that is for a PAIR.
In the light of the work involved, somebody is not making any money at all.
Would you like to make a small production number of heads at scarcely 1500 a shot inc seats and all the machining?
That sounds more like "dumping" than doing anything long term.
Rimmers don't have any heads for sale, and certainly not at that price. I suspect they haven't updated that for a while. If they have, I'll buy the lot.

They say "Available to Order from our supplier. Order NOW" ... and then go on to say they are on back order and no money taken until dispatch ... I am thinking this is probably a bit of crafty market research to find out if there is any interest in producing them.

unless they are doing some work SOCTFL aren't aware of they will take about 5 years to get close. they will need to produce patterns, find a foundry who can cast them, find a machine shop who can machine them and then assemble them with cams etc. The trouble is (as we have reported in the SOCTFL agms for the last 3-4 years) is getting suppliers to do it. They either say they can and can't or say they will and they won't. Hence it is slow going......

In other words it sounds like to me all the people who were previously got co-opted into such a project got their fingers badly burnt.
The pain level was so high, they are still in outpatient waiting for skin grafts to heal?

Frankly it sounds to me like this...
Could be, like The Doors, they were "Riders on the Storm", and the storm won.!
