    NEC Show 2017

Anybody know if the White stag sold that was in the auction?, the green stag that was on the jag ss stand we see at Helmingham hall, it was £26K then, did anybody have a look at the Black stag?.

Lots to see, to much for one day.

I don't know if the white Stag sold but I had a look round the Green one. It's price tag on the back window was £26k and the on the windscreen it was £23,500, having said that I thought it was wildly overpriced. The show was great but very very busy and far too much to see in a day and I have to admit I ran out of time to visit the SOC stand - completely unacceptable, sorry folks !

Update : The white Stag went for £23,625

Incredible price, and prices in general with an XR2 selling for £22,500...some of the other Fords, an RS500, for over a 100!

I really can't see this lasting, can it?
      Mike.

        XR2 for £22,500.......good grief!

I was chatting to a friend last night who is heavily into MG's - he has 3 of various periods and remarked on the prices the proper B V8's are going for now, closing on £30,000 for a good one

I guess there's so little you can put your money into these days and get a return over a long period and of course get to use it while its increasing in value - there may be a blip at some point but the rarity keeps it going I feel.

I've been toying with a very nice low mileage Rover 3500 P6 - just under £7,000 and immaculate - Great every day tax free vehicle even if a little thirsty, not sure I can convince the management that a third car (for me) is a sensible thing though..

It sounds sensible to me Mike. Should we start a petition on your behalf to management?

Nice Scalextric track, and the centre display Stag was stunning.

Would like to know more about the 4x4 Stag on the display.
I saw it, but did not have the time to enquire about more details.
I'm familiar with the two Stags known to be still around converted by FF for Triumph, one manual, one auto, but this appears to have had a substantial makeover recently with a few extra modifications along the way!

the 4x4 on the stand is owned by mr lewis of the committee ,it is afaik the original auto version although i believe now adapted with one of his zf box,s it is painted in a beutifull bergundyy metalic and having been restored has a few more subtle additions . i like it but imagine it is a thirsty beast with all the extra weight and extra running gear to turn
Beautiful early mk1 white tv8 mod? MGB GT and now looking for another V8

I few mods I noticed (apart from the 4x4 of course!) are the tubular manifolds (like mine, both going forward), wheel barrow tailpipes, A/C...maybe not factory, and the absence of a PAS pump. Maybe the rack is manual, or converted to electric? Electric seats, mirrors etc.

Enjoyed the show and thanks SOC for the coffee and biscuits and sit-down; much appreciated as there was a lot to see. I was told on the stand that the 4 x 4 is in Jaguar cardinal red (metallic) and it suits it very well. I was also struck by some of the crazy pricing, especially for 80s cars such as fast Fords. My personal choice to take home - fantasy territory here - would have been the Maserati 3500gt and the Triumph Itala Vignale. I could find a place for an early Corvette too....!

My favourite was the Anthracite Shelby Mustang, and my brother in laws favourite was the metallic green SM.

The car below was one of my favorites at a recent local Motor Show here in Tenerife - is it the same model you are talking about? You can see other models that were on display by clicking on the Link - https://youtu.be/AiihyOa33n4
