    Hi Jim,

The blue Stag at http://www.mandmautomotive.co.uk/ was on my list to view when I travel down to Portsmouth for some work soon.
I've only got a budget of around 11K and would appreciate you opinion on it, if you've already seen it, to potentially save me another journey!

I also have some interest in the yellow one on the Homepage but after initial contact with the seller, all has gone very quiet! Does anyone out there have any info on this one?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Jimmy

Jim, if the car is in West London, why not get Enginuity to appraise it for you. They really know their stuff and a relatively small outlay now might save you years of pain.

Plus, if it belongs to one of their customers, there will be a load of good history.

          Hi Jimmy,

Apologies for my late reply. The car is located close to where we live so was handy for a first look. The Trader does have a large barn type structure with plenty of cars for sale. The stag however was in an enormous disused commercial green house with another 50 or so cars. It took some while to find it under all the covers. The greenhouse had plenty of broken roof pans and there was glass on the floor. The car was underwhelming, soft tyres, interior was pretty poor and the hood tired. I couldn't get the drivers seat to move so didn't sit in the car for long. No offer was made to start the car or even try to sell it. in fact the salesman walked away to jump start another car. Having said all that the car wasn't the worst one there and no doubt there is a deal to be made somewhere.

Thank you all for your advice, I've now bought a Stag. One owner, 30,000miles! Pick up in January once a few bits have been done. It has a SOC grille badge proudly displayed so must be known on here?

            Thanks

            Jim

That’s a beautiful colour but doesn’t look original unless it’s Carmine? Hope you enjoy it

                            Jim,

Many thanks for your thoughts on the Blue Stag, I'm still searching in earnest and hope to be a proud owner soon!

Your new addition looks absolutely stunning, I hope you enjoy her as much as you did the TR...

                            Thanks again,

                            Jimmy

Thanks for all your help and advice on my transition from a TR6 to a Stag.

I'm very pleased to say 'Val' (Manufactured on the 14th Feb 1975) now resides in my garage after a 150 mile run down the Motorway in appalling weather. I looked long and hard for a car like this. One owner, 30,000 fully documented miles with a massive history file. No rust anywhere and all original panels. It has done so few miles in the last ten years that I'll be carrying out some re-commissioning before I venture far, so full service, brake fluid change and coolant back flush. Thanks also to Warren at the Triumph Stag Shop for doing the deal with me.

I'll be attending the next local SOC meet but in the meantime anyone in the New Forest area who would like to talk Stags and give me advice would be most welcome.

                              Jim

Nice to see that you have kept the wooden ‘helpers’ from your TR days. Unless your Stag has been lowered, you will be amazed at how easy it is to get a trolley jack under it by comparison. Enjoy the car.
