I want to recover my seats.

Need to refoam and recover my drivers side seat does anyone have a build thread with lots of pics to make it easy. If I had the spare cash I would drop it off at the Aldridge. Need to get it done as I'm struggling with my back at the moment and it's really not a good place to sit.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Part way through doing mine (Mk1). Haven't got pictures, but as others have said, take your time.
Things I have found so far:
Put a big piece of plastic/cardboard on the floor. If your seats currently have the granular filling it gets everywhere.
If material isn't moving when you strip the seat down, look for hidden clips.
Instead of working from one side and across, work fom the top of the seat down.
The tilting lever is the most awkward. You can get it through the foam OK, but shaping the indent to accommodate the plastic surround was more difficult.

Still working on a set of seat instructions, so there might be a few mistakes in these draft versions:

your properly find that the straps at the back of the seat have stretched, you can re-adjust them,so don't need to replace them, good luck

Simon, I'd recommend wearing at least a dust mask when you disassemble the seats. I had awful problems with asthma and red & runny eyes from the foam dust as it disintegrated. Also, if you tread old foam into the living room carpet, leave home.
