    Fuel tank

On returning from a trip to Cyprus (some great classics over there) @ 5am, opened the front door and what a stink! Not a good time to explain to the wife - its petrol! Opened the door into the garage and it was like a refinery. A few expletives and went to bed.
Petrol could be seen in the boot plus on the floor of garage. Removed tank next day and when starting, could not find drain plug. Removed tank and some very nice person had obviously done repair to the drain plug area using fibre glass and the repair had failed! Better still there was no drain plug in the hole.
Just received a new tank, from Paddocks, fitted and found another little problem which I wonder what you guys have fitted. On the tank there is the breather from the tank into the filler tube. Plus on the underside of the 'filler cap' there is a breather pipe which goes into a filter and out through the boot floor.
There is another hole which drains any splash back when filling. On mine there no connector or pipe on the underside. As a result any fuel that collects in the top side of the filler drains straight into the boot. Nice one!!
In the parts book it shows drain pipe 627450 but no connector. Is it the same as the connector 153673 used on the breather? And where does the pipe exit out of the boot?
Any help would be gratefully received.
    Mike
