Over fill of auto box oil

It seems that the level of oil in the auto gearbox is between "hot" and "cold" on the dip stick in the cold state. i.e. overfilled.

Does this in any way contribute to my earlier thread about a "grumbling" at around 30mph?

If not, is the overfill of any importance?

Are you checking it with the engine idling and at running temperature after a run . Even if you are that amount wouldn't matter.

    Ian.

No, engine static in a cold state.

      Thanks Ian,

Sorry Brian, I should of explained better. It should be checked as above when hot with the engine running. So I suspect you oil level maybe too low

If you look in the technical section there is an old service bulliten I found sometime back and Steve (Stagmuffin) posted it in there for all to share.

        Ian.

Yes Ian, spot on. It took about half a pint.

            Cheers,

Grumbling or whining usually comes from the passenger seat.

That's where the governor is, you can quieten it down with a bit of gaffer tape, worked for mine
