Returning hire car tomorrow and flying from Manchester back home to Tenerife.
In my suitcase are a set of cylinders and brake shoes + new mudflaps for my Stag, and a new brake master cylinder for the wife's Honda.
Once again Arnold Clark near M/Cr Airport gave us a hire car upgrade after ordering just a basic 3-door runabout, and instead at no extra cost they gave us a 5 -door brand new Hyundai I30 Diesel with just 1,016 miles on the clock - and quite impressed with the car.
Really enjoyed cruising the Belgium & Dutch Waterways on Fred Olsen's "Braemar" before spending some time with family in Chelmsford beforehand (where met up with Andrew Smith),
then Chester, where I paid the obligatory visit to Paddocks which is not far away from my son's house.
Saw no Classic Cars on our travels, apart from a "Del Boy" Reliant Robin in Amsterdam.
First job on the Stag when I get home is to get the rear brakes sorted, and at the same time put a new brake master cylinder on the wife's Honda.
The only disappointment about our trip to Belgium & Holland, was never getting any response from the Belgium & Dutch branches of the SOC, having
emailed them in advance asking where I might see some Stags. When a few years ago we sailed to New Zealand, plenty of Stag owners came to meet us when we docked and treated us like Royalty whilst in Auckland & Tauranga and took us out in their Stags.
