Team, one of the locals here in Australia has a problem with the panel in front of the bonnet that seems to 'push in' easily. I must say I have a similar problem if I lean too heavily in this area but mine pops back into place. I am certain mine has never had this panel replaced and is a 1975 build car.IMG_3058.jpg
Hi John,
I hope you could ask the group the following please – I almost have the stag ready to go on the road however note that the panel in front of the bonnet is extremely ‘flexible’ and if slightly leaned on, causes a dent that sometimes comes back out but other times requires a suction tool to pull it out. This isn’t good for the paint or the panel and I know I’m always going to have an issue if I can’t do something about it.
I note from the diagram that it sits on top of a boxed section (812643) with a rectangular ‘cut out’ space beneath it. I had thought of squirting expandable hardening foam underneath it but with this rectangular hole beneath, would probably not work. I was wondering if any other stag owner had addressed this issue and if so, how did they deal with the extremely flexible nature of this said panel.
Thanks heaps.
Regards Huw
