Behind front splash panel photo please

Hi, has anybody got a good photo of what's happening here behind the splash panel, I have a good idea, but a photo would be better as some of the information is missing due to rot, a Rover garage of all places also bodged the outer sill when they replaced it, looks like they chopped it up some to get it in.

    Cheers

Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

I saw that a few times when I had my Triumph restoration business. It's not possible to replace the outer sill properly without taking the front wing off, at least the bottom part of it where it meets the sill, so many garages used to chop the front part off and weld on what was left - often over the original rusty sill! Back in the day when old Stags were not worth much, a cheap repair to pass the MOT was all they justified.

They did also take the front wing off, so no excuse really, just bad workmanship .. they obviously had the "out of sight out of mind" work philosophy

kev100 Hi Kev, think we discussed in another post, whilst there you also need to weld the two lipped edges at the bottom of the A-post panel to the top of the outer sill.

Yep, I have to make some repair lips to replace the ones they cut away when bodging the fit, then will weld it all up, need to replace the bottom of the a post too, thats rotten
