Just got back from an 850 mile road trip to take part in the Laon Historique - great fun. Took a couple of days on the way back to "do" the Somme museums and cemetaries, ditto Dunkirk. Very sobering.
Some pretty awful weather across the 6 days that we were away, but the car ran perfectly and stayed watertight (I fabsil'ed the hood prior to going), and apart from fuel, just asked for 1/2 pint of oil and 1/4 pint of water (first time I have ever topped the water up apart from coolant changes, and really just to stop my low level alarm light blinking on hard stops).
If you fancy this event - it is worth the trip.
I hope the guys in the Stag with the alternator issue got home OK.
