    LED Lighting

    Hello fellow Stag enthusiasts,
Has anyone tried installing all LED Light bulbs in a Stag. I have fitted them to my Mk1 and now I find the indicators dont work properly. Only the front ones flash and both at the same time. My Mk1 does not have emergencey flashers although it seems it does now but only on the front. I have fitted an LED indicator relay but I wonder if there are other issues that need to be addressed. All the tail lights, stop lights, reverse lights and park lights, are all OK but the indicators are a the problem. If anyone has some ideas I would welcome them.

Sounds like the relay hasn't been installed correctly.

Might be worth contacting Better Car Lighting or Classic Car Leds https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/products/diode-harness-kit-for-led-indicator-turn-signal-warning-light-fix-kit?_pos=9&_sid=2bb10bc3a&_ss=r, I think they have a resistor or diode kit to fix this.

I fitted LED bulbs all around on my Stag several years ago (except headlights) without problem, including all 6 indicator bulbs. All from Classic Car LEDs, including the flasher relay. Mine is an early Mk2 (Mk1.5) which didn't come with hazard lights, so I fitted an aftermarket kit back in 2008. Still operates correctly even with the LEDs. Another MOT passed successfully yesterday.

I also replaced the lamps of my MKI with LEDs (+relay for the indicators), except ... for the 2 indicators lamps at the left and right (front) side of the car. When not having original bulbs at the left and right side or if these original bulbs do not have electric contact the indicators are strangely behaving.

avoid cheap chinesium kits from ebay and the like. Caveat Emptor

              Flasher relay needs an earth.

Is it possible that someone has retrofitted a hazard circuit to your stag? is there a hazard warning plunger or switch installed anywhere?
