Wanted or to swap: Stag for TR6

It may be a long shot but....
I've joined the Club as I'm looking to get my first Stag. I have a 1975 (N) green TR6 and it's time to swap to something more civilised!
I'm after a good original Stag, preferably blue or green but would consider red, must have Triumph V8 engine, hardtop, no restoration needed. I can buy outright, looking for something £7-8000; or if anyone is interested, I will PX the TR6 with a value of around 9000, so either a very good Stag or money my way. (If anyone just wants the TR6, it's up for £9500).
Please email ross@baverstock.me.uk for pictures and more info on the TR6 or if you're thinking of selling your Stag.
    Cheers,
    Ross

    (PS: I'm in east Surrey)

Good luck with your search - fancy a 6, but as I'm partial to my gentleman vegetables remaining where they are (wife adores Stag) I'll have to pass on your offer..... Plus mine is 4 speed auto...

I've always fancied a TR 6 also. I tick some of the boxes - Brooklands green, value, no smoke or rattles - but it's auto and located in SW France!

Ah well, can't have evrything I suppose. Off into the barn to do a few more small jobs on it.

This is largely the reason I must swap to a Stag; the 710 hates the TR6 now and loves the comfort of a Stag...

Thanks for the encouragement, chaps. Someone, somewhere...

Martin, speaking as an old fart I may be wrong, but... I believe that 710 is slang for a woman of less than perfect intelligence (i.e. one ratchet short of a socket set). If you turn 710 upside down you get OIL, I'll let someone else tell the joke as it's probably older than I am.

Less than perfect intelligence ? oh my God, you do like to live dangerously ! I know the joke, just didn't put it together - I'm an old fart too When I bought my Stag in '03, it was a toss up between that and a TR6, the V8 won out, but she's right, the Stag is a wonderful tourer, fast, and very comfortable . I think you're being too restrictive with colour and transmission, open it out a bit and you may get a result, bearing in mind that you're swapping 125 bhp for nearly 150. Good luck ! Martin.

A tongue in cheek reference to SWMBO; not that I'd ever use the phrase in my beloved's hearing!! A quick Google should find the original joke.

Thanks Martin; you're right, I have edited my post.
I've not driven an auto Stag and shied away from considering a 40 year old auto box. I'll post a question on the main forum.

                    Cheers,

                      Updated

I've now sold the TR6 so have 8.5k or so to spend on a Stag. If anyone is thinking of selling, please get in touch...

Looking for a good solid car that needs no significant work; hardtop; auto or manual; original Triumph V8. I would prefer blue or green, will consider red or variations on these colours.

                      Thanks
