Hi Will, your not my long lost twin are you I've had bikes all my life (have a Triumph Sprint ST1050 at the moment) Worked on cars and Commercials (Rootes Dealership who I did my apprenticeship with) until the early 80's and then did 30 years in the Bus industry.
Good luck with finding a Stag. If your looking at anything down this way I gladly help if I can.

Small world, I worked for the Go-Ahead Group as well in London (London General) I was one of the lucky few that became a Volvo licensed VECADS Technician as well as the Cummins Insite etc. I ended up as their Engineering Training manager but still tried to be hands on as much as possible.

Still looking ideally around £6500 range , allthough have been offered a lovely Stag for more money debating whether it's worth spending more on purchase to hopefully get a better car but there is always something with older cars

Generally I would say yes it is Will (spending more for a better car - assuming it is better) but without seeing the car I don't know and you are right, there is always something. But that is true whatever amount you spend, you will always find something.
Where is the car? I'm sure someone from here would look with you to see if they can see any issues.
