Hi all. I'm edd from Bristol and on Friday I am picking up my stag from Norfolk. I'm very excited and have lots planned to make her tip top over time I'm going to need lots of advice after reading some of the posts on here everyone looks very helpful
My stag was bought on e bay it's a manual magenta ( still not sure about the colour lol)
Plan a future colour change but at present it brought back found memories of my first drive in a stag when I was 10 with my dad at the wheel. Stood in the back with a friend thinking this has got to be the best car in the world that feeling has remained so I'm sure it's not the mid life crisis just a passion that couldn't be denied
Looking forward to participating where I can as even though I'm a builder i am capable with most aspects of car maintainace and used to work rebuilding and engineering remanufactured engines

Welcome to the forum. Picsean will be your friend for life...........unless you respray. I think Magenta looks great and apparently it is the "in" colour for womens underwear.

He he he as for the junior title I'm flatered being 42 lol
Our family all came to love magenta and a friend looked at it online and said that's a stag colour so a case of the car defining the colour and not the other way arround!
I nearly purchased a auto with so many about the manual with overdrive seem rare. I guess less were produced ?
I'm currently very nervous apprehensive and excited as the purchase was online ( I know I know ) but Norfolk from Bristol was to far after the last 6 hour drive to Newquay to look at the last one.
The kids have nearly been converted after the first comment of old mans car I now get a wow that one looks fantastic ! they will soon see the difference from the plastic blob engineering in a wind tunel brings
I will keep this post updated whilst driving back from Norfolk at a steady 50 as it has a recent recon engine plenty of stops me thinks

Nice introduction and you have certainly got the right coloured Stag - as others have said Magenta really is a colour of it's time! Hope all goes well for you and look forward to reading more posts about it.

Btw, mines called the MM (Magenta Marvel) so you can't call yours that too

What a lovely welcome today I found my dads original massive service book. Plus he has kept his original front grill badge. In the 80,s when his stag was all but 8 years old ( still over heated on first journey home lol) the front badge was stolen twice. The stag motif would be be prised from its crime outer casing his answer was to make a exact replica stag filed out of a solid piece of copper and set in a rubberised clear resin in the original chrome casing . He never got to fit it hence a nice good luck charm on my stag

Hope all goes well with getting the car home. I collected mine from Blackburn and drove down to Kent without a problem, it’s a steep learning curve and lots of fun.
My teenage son also thought my purchase was a mid-life moment but was converted when I took him for a drive with the hood down, listening to that great burble and roar when you accelerate .... Phew now I need another drive lol
This is a great site as a first reference for all matters Stag.

And welcome from me too,at least you get to drive your stag home,mine is a barn find purchased in April this year,body is in paint shop(British Racing Green) at the moment,and won't be mobile for 12 months plus!! Enjoy your car,the grin on ones face when one fires up a V8 is a standard feature!!
