Hi all, some of you may be aware that I have recently been stripping the Stag that I have owned for the past 32 years +. I have decided to go down the route of Thermal Pyrolysis to remove the paint, filler ,sealants etc, and a non chlorinated chemical dip to remove the rust.
The paint removal is done by placing the body and all metal parts into a big heat controlled chamber which is slowly heated up to 400 degrees. once the paint is removed and all parts washed down it is put into a tank where the rust is slowly removed.
I took the shell and all body parts to them on Wednesday, I am excited already.. cant wait to see what the end result will be.
Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures on here as it goes through the process to the end results. Attached hopefully, is the only picture I have so far, which is of my car on the trailer just before I set off on a 250 mile journey.
Please forgive me for not replying tonight as I am just off home where I have no internet.
