Hi Deano calling.still looking for a Stag.Having a little trouble finding one in Inca yellow with a manual gearbox. Can any one tell me the approximate cost of swapping an auto to a manual gearbox,Rimmers list a kit with every part needed for the swop for £1300.Secondly would the swop affect the value (+ or-) of the stag when I get one.Any body got any thoughts on this, also I am going to fontwell for the weekend looking for stags with for sale signs.TTFN Dean.

i swapped my bw35 for a man o/d a couple of years back. Bought all the bits from martin dimmock who dismantles hopless cases.
I did all my own spannering and got it done for about £750
Must admit that even though it revs slightly lower at speed and is slightly more economical and i can double declutch my down changes i might still prefer a good bw35:shock:Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

I did the same swap, cost £300 forthe bits from an independant dismantler, for EVERYTHING except stainless front exhaust pipes and pilot bush. I would not go back, MOD drives much better and feels far more responsive than the auto. Much more relaxed cruising at 2700 rpm rather than 4000 rpm.
Personally I would wait until you find a yellow MOD if that's what you want. The condition of untested secondhand parts is always a gamble. These cars are not rareand the car that you are looking for will come along eventually, plus you'll save yourself a shedload of work.
Mark.
