Seems this is a common problem. I used T cut on mine which did improve the look but did not make them perfect. Thenfinished off with a little polish.

Rear light problem is often down to poor earth. As a cure I know that some folks have run separate earth wires to each bulb holder.

Regarding the window switches, i remember reading a thread on this a long time ago - the main point being lots of suggestions (including peanut butter oil iirc !) none of which worked/lasted longer than 10 mins. If you are desperate for a new look you'll need to buy some new ones.

The bulb holders give up because they are rusty or the earth is dodgy - or both. Many owners have bought bulb holders with a seperate earth connection and had good results

The rear bulb hoders packed up on mine all I did was cleaned then all with emorry cloth and refitted no probs since.

My switches were also grey and I now clean them with Autoglym plastic restorer, it,seems to be pretty good stuff. Also just recently bough Autoglym metal polish and this is by far the best metal polish I've used. Takes the wheels up like mirrors

I got mine from Tony Harts Ebay shop - he doesn't have them listed at the moment - but may be worth an email to him.

I don't think they are unique to the Stag - TR6's (plus others?)i believe use the same holders, so someone like Revington TR or TRbitz may be an alternative supplier

              Hi Dave

Bought mine from paddocks - work great and easy to take an earth from the body to the lamp.

Regarding the window switches,I had the same problem used my wife's washing up scourer (green plastic type)to rub them down, then sprayed them with back to back, within a hour of applying they were a deep black.

Got this tip from a chap at the Classic Car Show who restored his Stag.?works a treat

i took the electric window switches apart and sprayed them with a satin black aerosol- they look really good imo and also stayed black. you could try gloss black i suppose as well

The rear bulb holders are made up of two metal parts. One with the spade terminals and the other which plugs into the light cluster.

I have, in the past, separated them because of corrosion. I cleaned them up and soldered them together again. No more problems.

You can 't do this to the plastic bodied ones as they melt with the heat.

                        Hope this helps.
