:?completed a vast trawl of previous posts on shafts and the bearings.but contradiction on spanner thikness is it both 10 mm thick or one at 3mm and one at 5mm?

found rimmers to have the most comprehgensive rebiuld kits about £70 aside.any others do the same cheaper or better quality maybe?

is there any reason why i could not helicoil trailing arms metric and use studs with nylocs to secure hub assy?

im going to make the tool some one on the forum has made to pull the hubs apologies cant remember who it was.

another kind forum member has lent me two shafts so i can rebuid at leisure.

    cheers steve...............

      Hi Steve,

Be really careful with Rimmers (or indeed anyone's)rebuild kits. Ask them what make the bearings are.

My gearbox kit came with no-name bearings that were poorly finished.

        Steve,

One member has a set of spanners he has stated he would be prepared to lend. Don Kennedy (Don2138) is in Plymouth. Send him an email or PM.

He has his own website: http://www.donkennedy.co.uk

thanks for the tip pete will check out bearings before i buy. personal pref is SKF never had a bad one yet,but then im prob biased done a 5yr apprenticeship there.they brainwashed us about how good there steel was and is .

DJT, dave thanks for the pointer good site but could not find his write up on the d/shafts only the diff but very informative.im going to get a pair profiled out of gauge plate and the spanner ends hardened to aproxx 60 rockwell so should last and then it is available for any of us northern gits when ive done mine lol.

          cheers steve.............
