Hiya Stewart, welcome to the looney bin ! Nice job on that trailer, we were camped across from you and I popped over for a chat at Uttoxeter but you were busy with kids and bicycles. There are a couple of bods on here with that tank, I'm sure one or more will reply. I do know it's high quality and a good fit round the turret. Once again, welcome.Martin.

Hello,
I have fitted such an EJWard header tank. The installation is easy, as the tank fits very well around the turret and uses the bolts from the turret. The tank sits high enough to ensure a coolant level above the water pumo.
The only thing, which I miss, is a sort of glass insert in order to control the coolant level.
Kind regards, Dieter.

I also fitted the ward tank and am really pleased with it. As Dieter said it is easy to fit. I sprayed mine the same colour as the car as I did not lime the aluminum finish and it looks great when fitted.
I would recommend you consider the silicon tee piece hose also offered by Wards that makes the whole thing easy to fit and looks very professional when complete.
The tank is quite large and seems to hold a lot of water I don't know how much but since I fitted it 4 months ago I only recently topped it up.
There has been a lot of criticism on this tank not having a level indicator and I think this is justified considering the cost.
Would I buy it again. If you don't mind the expense then definetly yes. However as clearly stated on this forum you can get the same with level sensor if you are prepared to do some work to make brackets etc.
I am really pleased I paid out the money for this mod. Will add some pictures of it fitted.

You could always retro fit a sightglass. This what I used on my custom tank. Maybe Wards could add one as an optional extra?

For me the level viewer window is a nice. If the bonnet is open then taking the cap off to view the level is fine for me.
Better would be a built in level sensor. I spoke to wards on this when I bought the tank and the said at the time they could not find an easy / reliable sensor to fit.

Its easy to findreliable sensor, the problem is a good reliable sensor at a reasonable price. The stainless steel float sensor that I ended up using cost around £60four years ago, last I looked it had jumped to nearer £90:shock:Mike.

Was thinking of fitting one of these to the top of my Ward Header tank.

Anyone see why this would not work?
This would wire simply to a 12v buzzer and problem solved.
