    MOT failed!

Well I guess you may well remember me lamenting that I thought I'd fail MOT a few weeks back. Guess what?.... It has :X

Not all bad though I think:

Failed on offside inner and outer wing (which I was expecting and the garage seem fairly happy will plate over well enough)

Failed on offside headlamp pattern (I bought cheap H4 headlights off eBay and suspected it was a duffer)

    Failed on front suspension balljoints.

So, off to slave away this weekend to sort the balljoints. Good opportunity to throw a few new poly bushes around under the front too I think.

Re the headlights, has anyone bought Paddock's cheaper (£80ish) set of 4, or should I go for Cibie @ £125ish?

Where do you go for the dreaded mot? I'm in Cheltenham and normally use Cleeve Hill Garage, but wouldn't mind finding other garages that are recomended.

I'm still very impressed with the lights I got from Wards, having all four on at dip & main makes for a much brighter night time driving experience.

If there the same ones I bought some last year after discovering my car had 4 main beam lights fitted. I bought 2 dipped beam ones with the Lucas sticker on them to match the others, the only issue is they come with a side light holder so I put grommets in the holes sprayed Silver, I.m pleased with them.

Hi Ian, how you doing, are you still in the USA mopping up the Oil

Did you fit an uprated alternator and I assume you fitted the additional relay and loom.

          Ian.

sorry to hear the MOT woes... Out of interest what level of corrosion was in the wing?

            cheers,

Well you can insert your whole hand into it!

Clearly this hasn't rusted through to this extent in the last year so I've no idea how it got through last year's MOT (before I owned it). I'll leave you to guess as to the scruples of the garage and the previous owner...

One hand should be ok, only worry if you can get both in

I,m sure I got them from James Paddock, He'd only just just got them in and I was the first to buy a pair. thay are a replica lamp with a Lucas sticker applied.

If you have any trouble getting them give me a shout and I'll dig out the invoice with part No etc.
