Afternoon chaps.
Got all the work done on the Exhaust, Cooling system, Oil tranfer boxand now changed the oil filter. Even seem to have cured "all" the oil leaks which means I am constantly not worrying where I park her! Think I may go the header tank route on the cooling, as despite flushing and changing all the hoses I still think it could be improved.
Soonwards to the next job which is the track rod ends and the gaitors on the rack. Both which look knackered..gaitors are torn on both sides and rubber covers perished on the T.R.E's.Two quick questions:
1: Where is the best place to get the track rod ends from as there seems to be vast differences in price, I would rather know I have a decent quality item than have paid less or over the odds etc. Have used LD and Robsport so far and both have been good
2: What else should I be looking to replace around this area whilst having it apart. Are the bushes that hold the rack to the mounting worth doing? They don't look in too good a nick to me and everything had been liberally coated in engine oil which I guess isn't the best thing for rubber bushes! Also if I change them am I best sticking to standard rubber as I have heard poly bushes are a tad harsh for the Stag?
The Hubs , struts and brakes have all been done and look new or recon so I am happy with that area for now, but I would like to improve the steering which feels fairly woolly.
