      Hi Stu

This will not replace the thermal cut out as this re-sets itself and stops the windows trapping something etc.

Good for replacing a fuse though but you still need to find out why the fuse blew in the first place:?

Ifitted a fuse just as temp mesure i was going to fit one of these

Not sure wjat the amp rating of the original but it's cheaper option they do 25amp as well

The thermal whatsit on my car has expired after only two days use. Obviously it did not like sitting doing nothing for thirty years and then being asked to work for a living:?Thirty quid for a replacement is excessive:shock:

So I was wondering what modern replacements were available. Your suggestion is just the ticket.

        Cheers

I think maybe you misunderstand, is it one particular window when you operate it that blows the fuse!

There are a selection of Thermo Cut outs here

            http://www.hawco.co.uk/Thermostats-a...rs_61_0_c.aspx

But not sure what temp you need - would be worth givingthem a ring and i am sure they could advise - also only around £2 each if it works

I did sorry. It doesn;t go when windows in operation only when they are already up or down if you catch my drift?

                Confused now:?

The fuse doesn't blow when you operate the windows? But blows when they are in an open or closed position?

In that case I would suggest that there is a fault at the switching end and the window is trying to go up when it's already up.

If you're around this week I might be able to have a look

I'm a bit confused as well, but from what you say you could have a switch sticking or a short somewhere, I think you should take up the offer of some local help.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

                  Ian.
