    Intermittend Non Starting

In an Attempt to cure my intermittent non starting, I found a white connection next to the starter motor. Am I right in assuming this is the 4 wires from th einhibitor switch?

Seems to be coming from the right direction and has the correct number ofwires. The connection pins have seen better days so hopefully cleaning this up will solve the issue. So far so good.

    Hi swissteve,

I recently had this issue with my Stag and effected a compleate cure by fitting the starter relay kit from E J Wards. I think the white wire you describe may be the feed to the coil ballast resistor which may not now be in use depending if any mods. to the electrics have been done. The guys on here I'm sure willbe offurther help.

    Cheers Andy.

The white connection near the starter does indeed carry the white/red wire from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. If this is dirty and making a poor connection it will produce the 'click-nothing' symptom. Give it a good clean and a smear of petroleum jelly. As yours is an auto, the inhibitor switch is spliced into this circuit, so make sure the connections to that are also clean.
