Wiper motor return

I 've just returned to the road after a four year restoration.My wipers work correctly except when they are turned off they stay where they were when the stalk was moved to the off position.

Is there a relay which performs this function or is the motor shot ???

Simply lever the wiper blades off with a screwdriver, and put them back where you expect them to be when parked. Switch them on/off again and everything should be O.K. if your motor is always stopping in the same place, which it should be unless it needs greasing. Not a big job to under the cover screws and check what it is doing.

John, From what I recall when I last had my motor in pieces - there is no adjustment on the switch - it is simply a piece of plastic that pushes a contact button when it reaches the end of a rotation, and if the wiper switch has been moved to the "off" position on the steering column it will then stop.

The (park) switch is mounted using two small screws in elongated holes. There is some adjustment available. Wipers stopping wherever they are switched off indicates a fault with the switch. New ones are listed as NLA by the suppliers, but there was a post on here a while ago with a link to a supply.
