    Here come the questions...

    right here goes :

    1) Is there meant to be an area of windscreen that doesn't get wiped by the wiper blades above the dash speaker or are my blades just too short / wrong type?

    2) Where is a good source of Rover V8 parts other than Rimmer?

    3) My auto box stopped working while sitting in traffic this morning while still cold and on choke, would only move again when revs got high enough, is this a gearbox fault or does a cable need adjusting ( was fine on test drive and only did it today for the first time )

    4) Any tips on how the stop the mk1 hubcaps from rattling ?

    5) Who is recommended for auto and propshaft work in Surrey area ?

    6) Are Monarch Manifolds worth the Money compared to say Rimmer full SS system for the same price?

    7) Can someone post a photo of how the battery brackets look, mine is kind ofbodgedI think !

    8) Does the Renovo water proofer work ?

Icannot think of anymore right now,but I am sure there will be lots.

    thanks in advance

    Hi Suart and welcome

V8 supplier ,try these guys http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Partsrange. i've bought 1 item from them but i don't know how prices compare.

As for the wipers ,i fitted new wheel boxes and rebushed all the joints on my wipers and they still miss a bit .B***er. I did manage to get a pair of original speed blades with the wire frame which are far better than solid chromereplacments on offer.

        Hi Stuart

The wipers normally leave a line of water down the center of the screen!

I don't know about Renovo but Auto Glym soft top proofer works.

        See pic of battery bracket.

          Hi, Stuart,

          1) Is there meant to be an area of windscreen that doesn't get wiped by the wiper blades above the dash speaker or are my blades just too short / wrong type?

No, they should overlap in the middle, but don't expect modern car efficiency from them.

          4) Any tips on how the stop the mk1 hubcaps from rattling?

Nip over to B&Q (or similar) and buy a roll of draft excluder (the stuff that is about 1/4" wide and usually white). Whip off the trim and stick some of this foam to the wheel in acircle just where the wheel trim clips on. There are three small nibs sticking out of the wheel near the centre. This will tighten up the wheel trim and stop the rattling.

          8) Does the Renovo water proofer work?

Yes, but you will probably need several coats if faded badly. Let it dry thoroughly or you will get black runs down the side of the car when it rains. Won't show too much on yours, but my car is white . They will polish off OK though.

            Hi Stuart

With the auto - which one have you got -BW35, 65 or as you have a Rover lump, possibly a GM180?

Definitely check the level first - run theselector through all the gear positions with the engine running, back to park and check level with the engine running.

Look at/smell the fluid - if it pink in colour great, if it is dark, not so - if it smells burnt as well, bad news.

I can pass through Tolworth on the way to do something for the outlaws on monday, I used torebuild autos and worked in a Rover/Triumph garage for 16 years if you want a second opinion...

Thats some fine photos and answers guys,

My wiper blades must be wrong size then as they miss by around 2 inches or more !

and I can now set the battery clamp correctly too, I will do the hubcaps once I get her back from the garage and I think the level may have been low in the gearbox, I am not sure on type yet but it has the gearbox oil coolerunder the front valance socould be original .....

thanks for the offer Russ, but alas the garage may not be have relinquished her back to me, I am having a service and some welding to the manifold hopefully and then a tune up.

              Thanks again

              Stuart
