    Bonnet release cable

    Hi Guys,

I want to swop my bonnet pull handle over from the passenger side to the drivers side tonight.

There are two posts on the striker plate, each with a hole in it, and a threaded bolt to retain a cable.

Can anyone confirm if I can merely use the post nearest the drivers side to butt the outer cable up against, and locate the inner cable through the other post on the striker plate - will this allow the release of the spring loaded plunger just the same?

Can't get my head round whether there will be any pronblems with this, but am scared of finding out when the bonnet won't open!!

    any help much appreciated.

    cheers,

    Peter

    Peter f,

You could simply put another cable in on the LHS. I made a little bracket and drilled both the fixed and moving parts of the existing catch for 6mm bolts. (One bit was very hard but I can't remember which - there is a post on the topic.)

This way there is a back-up if one of the cables fails.

    FWIW
