Speedo Problem

My speedo is acting very strangely it registers the speed being travelled but the mileometer has stopped moving!:?

It was working last week but now nothing, the only thing I might be of interest is I zeroed the trip meter which then only register 3 miles instead of 9 for the journey home.

Can anyone help with this problem?

From memory, inside the speedometer, at the end of the milometer drums, there is a small pin held in place by a spring clip that needs a drop of oil. Kingpin detailed how to do this about a year ago, but I cannot find the article.

Naturally the speedo needs to come out of the dash and have its guts removed.

You might find re, re setting the trip meter might loosen it, rather than stripping it down, they are not the best! I think mine has stuck before andI have managed to get it going again like this.

I think your right Dave as it started working again on the way home however I stripped it down anyway to oil it and see how it works, took 10-15mins so not time consuming!

Jason it was tempting but my honestygot the better of me!:P
