Gent's can you confirm that the wheel studs + nuts are 7/16. I need to change one of my studs as the thread is pretty nashed. Will locking 2 x nuts together pull the stud out. Or is there a possibility it will snap. Whats your thoughts

Hi Moraystag, No because they are not studs. they are fixed into the hub by a raised spline section on the back of the so called "stud". All that is required to remove one or all is to clout it with a hammer and drive it out backwards.Refitting as they say is a reversal of procedure until the replacement is seated fully and square into the hub.

If it were possible to pull them out, then the wheels would fall off the car at some time!
One of mine had actually been bodged by a PO filing down a standard bolt and jamming it in, so the threads must be standard but, as said, you should get new studs - all suppliers sell them individually. Not sure if front and rear are different though.
The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

Front and rears are different, some suppliers will sell you the longer ones for the rear and say you can cut them down, but you may find some after market ones have a shoulder that is to long and runs out of thread to pull up the wheel fully against the hud on the fronts. I got some good S/H ones and cleaned them up with a die. 7/16" UNF if I remember correctly
Ian.

The rear ones can be fiddly to get back on as there isn't much room between the driving flange and the flange attached to the rear trailing arm. It looks impossible to start with, but it can be done!
Probably worth having a couple of spares in the toolbox as well. They don't seem to take the 100lbf the ROM says for Alloys!
