    Carpet Dye

I have some original rear wheelarch carpets for my PI Estate to replace the tattered ones on it now. The trouble is I need them to be black and the new ones are tan. I have heard of automotive carpet dye which could recolour them, has anyone ever used it, or know where i could get it form? I would like to use originals as they fit much better than repros...

    Thanks

In the past I have dyed car carpets with the old Dylon from my hardware store. Bung in a clean plastic dustbin and give it a stir every now and then.
Worked wonders on a very faded Cortina interior.
