    Newbie Introduction

    Hi All

Just a quick introduction, I had intended to do this when I actually owned a Stag but that is proving more difficult than I first thought so may be this is a good time.

I have been a visitor to this forum for a couple of months and it was the friendly approach and helpfulness of everyone on here (bar a few exceptions but all forums attract then) that finally made my mind up that buying a Stag would be a good move.

Hopefully when I gain more knowledge I will be able to contribute with my experiences, in fact it is my intention (famous last words) to add as many upgrades to maintain reliability.

Having missed out on a gem of a Stag all my other viewing have been disappointing the last turning out to be a ‘ringer’.

In the last few days I have joined the club, added a wanted ad to the other part of the forum and hope to visit the local region as soon as I can.

    Welcome Phil

Fairly new to Stag myself, just having a well earned brew after grovelling underneath mine to sort a wonky speedo out, off for a test drive in a minute, having listed up mentally a few more things I want to put right

Good luck finding the right one

    Cheers

          Hi Phil,
Welcome to the madhouse, and good luck with finding a nice Stag.
Do what I did, and go to the natter and noggin nights if you get the chance, and get to know the guys, who are the ones to take with you so that you don't get carried away and buy a lemon.
Also there are usually some good ones in th back of the Stag mag, but again, if you see one or two possibles, take someone with you who knows. There are a few on here who have let their heart rule their head when they have gone to see one, and paid the price accordingly.
Hope you find a good 'un!!

                Hi Steve

                Thanks for the welcome.

I know the housing estate you are referring to but it is needed to fill all the pubs, take-aways and super-markets that Melksham has.

It was probably a good job that I did not see you in your Stag otherwise I may have jumped out in front of you begging you to sell it.

I am coming to the conclusion that there is such a thing as the North South divide and all the stags for sale have gone north.

                Phil

                  Hi Phil,

welcome to the club! A stag is bound to come up soon.

I lived in Purton near Swindon for 7 years and there was another stag in the same village so they haven't all gone north

                  Kind regards
                  Ian

Hi Phil, welcome to the club and forum, there are a few of us dotted around Wiltshire, only just across the downs from you in Marlborough and if we can help in any way let us know, have access to ramp etc to check before or after you find your Stag. Know of a Mk 2 with Triumph 2500cc 6 cyl and man /o drive, 1974 French Blue if interested. Martin.
