Seals ???

Hello,

A while ago I asked about the seals for the hard top. Looking at passed posts it would appear that the ones supplied are made of rubber that is too hard making the top / front one being difficult to compress.

I have been on a mission and have been getting samples form a number of companies. One company lists two seals as being for a Stag although they are unable to say what Stag seal they are as their supplier is unable to say.

So does anyone know or recognise the profile of the seals below although I suspect that they are "equivalent" parts. Some of the samples I have received from other companies look "interesting".

I hope to have all the information and hopefully seals that fit good, as soon as I know I will of course let you all know.

Unfortunately can't help you with the questions, but avidly await your findings Don. Your diligence and precision of information is exemplary and rubber seals for classic cars are too often their Achilles heel.

One of our guys bought the upper seal on recommendations from this Forum last September to use as side seal on soft-top. He described it as harder than the original but with a profile that made it much better than very hard seals being supplied elsewhere as correct fitment. He is well pleased.

Is your supplier Seals Direct? Their website shows these two profiles under 'Triumph'. (Usual disclaimers.)

Don't know about the other one.

Seal 2 looks similar to one I fitted to the front rail of my soft top. Not sure could be wrong but I'll look when I get home

Hiya, the top pic is the hood seal over the door top and the second is the headrail seal. Martin.

Many thanks for the replies and information.

Looking at the other samples I have there could be more options but I need to do more "homework".

As soon as I have more information I will post my findings but it could be a couple of weeks or so before I know.

Hopefully not a silly question ?.

I am about to order some seals, a couple of different types, what I have found look very promising.

Can someone please confirm ( Or correct ).Does the seal that goes above the doors make contact with the top of the door on both the soft top and hard top or does the hard top seal make contact with the door the same as the seals that go down the A pillar, i.e. when the door closes it presses against the seal.
