Help does anybody if the steel pipe that joins the heater to the thermostat can be changed without removing the carbs? Its the pipe that runs inside the vee beside the cam cover.

You should be able to. I changed mine without removing the carbs but the engine was out of the car at the time.

Did mine a few weeks back
Just bend the bracket that secures it flat against the pipe with some pliars ( if your throwing it), it comes out then. I found the new stainless one went it easy too
