I thought it looked good value for the momey. If you can rebuilt engines yourself (which excludes me!) what would it cost you to do this?

Very dependant on what is wrong with it. I got lucky with the one I bought from Martin, it had previously been fully rebuilt though had seized from standing and needed one bore fitting with a liner but apart from fitting new timing chains (guides and tensioners were as new), crank bearings and a gasket set that was about it. That was the source of the engine for the TR

If it needs a full rebuild Rimmers do a kit of bits for about £600, add crank and rebore and you are probably looking at £900- £1000 unless extra machining work is needed,

I always like to keep a spare engine for bits, but then running 3 cars with stag engines it is sometimes needed
