chap down the road gave me an old paper found in his loft and i chuckled when reading the old adverts for houses new at £2300 :shock:and cars at silly money by todays standards but that was then .the writer wrote about the rover 100 dubbed the poor mans rolls royce and the comparison continued to the price new at £1,538 tax paid.the writer then suggested it was more modern and ahead of rolls royce as it had disc brakes up front unlike th roller. RR said that the drum brake system was more reliable:?. they had some gadgets to such as a dash mounted push button which told the engine oil level
( handy on a stag)and overdrive as std and also a reserve fuel tank also usefull.
