I've just noticed the nuts on my alloy wheels won't fit my steel spare. I know they are 7/16" thread & 13/16" head but need to find out the length of the nut. Anybody mind measuring the length of a nut .

The nut off an alloy wheel won't fit a steel wheel due to the different shape. You need a steel nut with a 60 degree chamfer not the straight diameter offered by the alloy wheel nut!

Do not be tempted to use your steel wheel with your wheel nuts off your alloys as the nuts will not hold the steel wheel securely.Comment
