Parts List

Hi

I am looking to start rebuild of a rescued Stag with just a shell (incl door etc.) and would like to reference a parts list from major components down to and including all nuts,bolts, washers etc.

I have the full repair operation manual and Haynes book, but want to build a shopping list / Bill of Materials , to add to the project plan.

Can anyone let me know if the ones advertised around on ebay contain this level of detail, or if it is available on the CDs also advertised on there?

The official Triumph Satg Parts Manual is a must.

I've got an original one from when I worked in a Triumph dealer but I think you'll find them on Ebay or from the main suppliers.

Agreed + a copy of the ROM which has the odd useful diagrams and re-assembly instructions as well. Don't forget Rimmer bros used the pictures from the Parts Manual as a reference on their Web site. Useful even if you don't end up buying from them

The parts book Julian has mentioned is the kiddie to go for. It was available new on Amazon until fairly recently so I don't know if it has gone out of print?

A great site for finding books new or second hand is abebooks.co.uk.

You will also need the Triumph Standard hardware catalogue to identify all of the nuts and bolts. This isn't available in print but Don Kennedy (On the Forum) has compiled it on his website. ( www.stagbytriumph.co.uk )

Those arehelpful links Don &Dave, thanks.

I remember I was working in Rover Triumph dealer when parts microfiche and their readersfirst came in and were destined to replace the old parts books.

As you can perhaps imagine,there was a certain resistance to change but fiche werethe future. However the parts books refused to die and I, for one, really did find the books so much easier to leaf through when you had a customer needing something obscure.

In the end we had some incredibly tatty old books with all the pages falling out but lots of us still used that in prefernce to the fiche !

Ps Obviously things moved on with the arrival of the computer age whenone chip could hold all the details of dozens of cars. Brought a whole new meaning to fiche & chips

Books still rule for me . Even the Heritage DVD versions of the manuals won't work on the latest versions of windows. (Vista and presumably 7 as well).
