    Rover V8 Exhaust Manifolds

    ok this is getting annoying now, questions after question....:P

    My manifolds need replacing, are there any differences between those offered by Rimmer, Hart, Paddock or Monarch or are they effectively made by the same people just sold through different outlets ?

    is it worth buying a SS system at the same time or try and mate up the old bespoke system ?

    what size bore is normally used for the sport system ?

    I think my system may be a little weedy for the V8 to be honest...



    I am going to to show on 10th Feb and may well pick up a system, anyone have any comments on their quality or fit versus each other ?

    I remember seeing the monarch rover manifolds at national day and they look highly polished probably becausethere's are made from the higher grade stainless 304.

    I think if you get the all in one system from rimmers it would be from the lower quality 904.they do the 304 grade but it seems to be individually listed.

    I'd keep your tall pipes if i were you ,they look cool but in keeping with the car.Could you post a pic of how they are connected underneath please.

      Steve, thanks for the info and I just rechecked the other post and found your earlier request for underside pics of the system.

      looking at it I will probably have to change it all as it looks pretty rough under there.

        here is the end of the system, nice chrome pipes but there seems to be some evidence of blowing.....

          Thanks for the pics Stuart .I will have to do something different when i have fitted my BMW crossmember and i will proberbly do a double twin like yours but in stainless steel.

                  I had a rimmer standard SS system on to monarch manifolds, yes the standard system does restrict the gas flow for the rv8.

                  With re your alternator siting you can see the down pipe is aft of the cross member.

                          nice and clean !

                          next question is did Long life fit the monarch for you ?

                          if i go down that route i will either have to fit the manifolds at home and do a spazzy temporary fix to drive to longlife, not a great option really, or pay them to fit the manifolds and then make the system, which ups the money even more!!!

                            When i purchased my manifolds 2000 they came with an adapter that reduced down the diameter and clamped on to the standard exhaust. You will have to speak to ian at monarch to confirm, but i cant see him selling the manifolds without an adapter section.
