These pumps all look alike now, it doesn't help when they're covered with green stickers in an attempt to make Diesel seem greener.At least my youngster laughed before gleefully telling his mates who told their dads.....

Glad to hear your motor unaffected tho.

It also doesn't help when some petrol staions have diesel in yellow hoses and some in black.

Whatever happened to standardisation? :X

On the Round Britain run a few years ago there were 3 or 4 cars that filled with diesel by mistake. They were concerned and some even retired. We syphoned out 3 cans of diesel and it went in our 2.5 saloon, then a few more wentin the stag. To be fair the 2.5 is LPG converted anyway so it took some time to use it up. The stag smoked a bit (even more than usual!), but went okay!

It is surprising how long it takes to dissipate - my brothers toledo sprint was smoking for about 6 months after we used up someone elses "mistake" (50/50 petrol diesel mix in a diesel A3!) At least my cars are old enough to be "visible smoke only" at the mot - I dont think its anything to worry about!
