    Window switches

I know this was discussed a while ago, but I was wondering if anybody has found a new cure for window switches that turn 'milky' white.??:?

(I think somebody mentioned peanut butter/oil on a previous thread..??:shock

    What works for you ..??

on the subject of window switches, can you buy the metal clips that hold them in the wood , as mine are all loose and keep coming out?

    cheers

Tony - i 'm not aware of special clips - i just wrapped some gaffer tape around the switch body - add as much as is necesary, then slot in, the lip of the switch means you dont' see it at all.

Not sure if you found the previous thread but one suggestion was to paint them:

As for fitting the switches, whilst not ideal, I've wrapped them in insulating tape which does the trick.

          Cheers

Yes I was the one who suggested the peanut butter method some time back (smooth not crunchy of course). Smells nice andworks for a while but sadly the effect does not last. Only goes in my sandwiches now.

i have seen the switches somewhere else, buggered if i can remember where though, it's in a truck daft as it sounds, all the switches are that bit bigger than cars.

its either volvo or the old ERF just wish i could remember

try a black sharpie marker and colour it in, sharpies will not fade and are truly permanent got in good stationary shops.
hope this is of some benefit.
                  regards john

i just scratched it all off with my nails.... i thought it was dirt... and then used black shoe polish, it does fade over a few weeks.

                        might be worth ago?
