Boot seal

My boot seal has perished, and I need to purchase a new one.

Can anyone please advise me the 'best place' to get a new one that will fit etc..?

i have heard a good secondhand original is better than the newer 'Almost the correct size' options same goes for the seal across wher the bonnet closes.

I totally agree with this. I got a good original one from Les Clark at Morecambe (no connection etc...).
The lid now sits properly, not proud like the previous new one I had bought.

I've recently fitted an boot seal from a highly regarded Stag supplier, the boot fits nice and level but the problem is that the lock doesn't always catch properly.

My boot usually needs a firm shut but although I lift it to see that it's caught there are times when it pops open en route, so I always have to recheck when I park up which is a minor PITA !

Sorry to jump in on this thread but it served as a timely reminder and thought an answer might help others replacing their seals too. My question is, is there any adjustment in the catch mechanism or parts which might have worn and need replacing ?

Hi Paul,

Yes there is some up and down adjustment on the boot catch - the part that fits to the body. Easy to adjust - justfour phillips screws if I recall.

Thanks Peter, I'll get on to that at lunchtime as I've driven to work in the Stag today - Idon't think it will needs much adjusting as sometimes it's fine
