Interesting description as to why there are different part numbers for left and right. Is he correct? Makes me wonder if I've fitted mine the right way arround
last pair I saw sold for £500 :shock:way abovemy budget
Im currently waiting for a pair to be re-chromed and have bought new outerlenses,of course not as straight forward as it seems as you have to re-use your old inner lenses which involves glueing the red reflector down one side, another caution ,keep glue to a minimumalthough solvol autosol did manage to clean the glue smear but as usual not straight forward.
If you are not a purist you can dispose of most of the coloured lenses in the rear lamps and use LED's together with yellow indicator bulbsto give a much clearer light for those unfortunate enough to have to follow you, again though you have to glue the redreflector in.
Why dont SOCTFL remake these they are very sought after, if not the whole unit them mabye lenses? as a quality product.
I bought a pair of new ones, might have been 10 years ago, and they where new ones that had just been remanufactured after being unavailable for some time from BL/Unipart
Are we saying that these have been all sold/no more made, and are unavailable too now?
The ones on my Stag (which seem very original) are NOT handed (i.e. both are identical). They have LUCAS stampings on them. The seller also gave me two very old LUCAS boxes with brand new LUCAS rear lamps in them . They are also "one size fits all".
Are "original" ones with Triumph stamping or LUCAS? Does a LUCAS set qualify as being original or re-manufactured?
Interestingly, when lamps have an E-Marking, this has to be the right way up. This is the quick way for a tester to see if the lamp is the right way up. (At least that's what the German TÜV says). The LUCAS ones cunningly have hte E-Marking at 90°, so it was obviously intended that they fit LH or RH (Otherwise one side would have an upside down E-Mark).
The angle of the bulbs is horizontal, so it makes no difference whether they are fitted LH or RH. The only clue could be that the LUCAS stamp on the red bit is upside down on one side.

He has been trying to sell these at that price for some time. Back in April, with tongue-in-cheek, I sent him the link to ldpart and his response was that ldpart must be selling hooky ones:
"I have passed it on to Lucas who were very interested in it.
The RRP is £58.76 for this item and they certainly cannot be bought for what he is selling it for."
Yeah, right! I can buy them locally for around £15. I hope none of our members has forked out £44.99 for one
