what type of glue to secure on the bonnet rear seal?

Hi All

I have purchased a new rubber rear seal for my freshly painted bonnet. The old seal was secured by studs pressed into various holes in the bonnet. The new seal from Paddocks is designed to be glued on.

Has anybody got any experience of attaching that type of seal to shiney paintwork? Will super glue or a contact adhesive like Bostik do the trick?

bruce would of thought any contact adhesive would be ok bostik/evostick or use a double sided tape from 3M sticks like s**t to a blanket used it on sheet metal panels and destroyed them trying toseperate 24hrs later, and some of the tapes are no thicker than sellotape and look the same except sticky both sides

Bruce ,I have just fitted a bonded in rearscreen for my daugther and the glue used for that is something else .Trying to get the old stuff off of metal was a mission.A kit cost £10 on ebay .

Hi Bruce,

I replaced mine a month or so ago and used EvoStik which worked very well and was probably used on the previous seal judging by the residue.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback. A tube of Bostik was purchased yesterday and put to use. Aftet 24 hourscurring the seal seems nice and firm on the bonnet.
