Hello Chaps
As we all know the Stag was fitted with side-impact bars for the American market, but it seems that us Brits were not considered so valuable and the domestic cars didnt get them.
About ten years ago when I was restoring lots of Stags I offered used to make up side impact bars from 1"X 3mm square tube, and fit them while replacing the doorskins. And because I had done the hard work of figuring out the ins nad outs, I also offered them for sale to anyone.
And as I am reskinning a pair of doors at the moment, I offered to make some up for the owner and am currently in the middle of the job of fabricating the plates which locate the bars to the carcass.
Is this of interest to anyone else?
