as we all know the biggest impact on the worlds resources is a cars manafacture it takes about 150k for a toyota PIOUS to break even on its green credentials.

we all need to use the worlds resources wisely. but there is probably an equation along the lines of the more cars you own x the engine size x cost of vechile x the size of your house divided by your annual income = the amount of time you fly to Bali for a weekend break!!

the more 1 mile journeys we walk the better, oh apart from if you live in kensington or aspire to, cantlet the other mums see you hoofing it! got to flash off the 57 plate:X

Autocar published details of congestion charge figures a few months ago. £157M collected in £8 daily charges. Cost to run scheme £150M, seems hardly worth it BUT fines collected £95M. Average speed before CC, 9.9MPH and now it is 9.3MPH. These figures are from memory but are close.
Seems that CC works like Contolled Parking Zones in that little profit is made from the daily tickets but the fines are the revenue collectors.
A fellow Stag owner inadvertantly crossed into the CC zone, the first he knew about it was a letter arriving demanding £150.
      John.

          Nice idea

However when your one of the people who gets public transport in place ready for Joe Public, there's nothing available to get you to work and yet you have to pay Red Ken's tax when leaving work to go home, and no beforeyou ask, there is no help from tfl or company's to help pay this unjust Tax. Remember not everybody has the option to work 9 to 5!

          Regards Andy S

The new charge comes in to effect from October

The £25 charge will apply to vehicles emitting more than 225 grams of CO2 per kilometre (g/k), as well as those registered before March 2001 which have engines larger than 3,000cc.
