    Car Hood Warehouse ?

Has anyone used these guys in Chessington for hood fitting ?

A friend used them a few years ago on his Ford, but anyone with a Stag ?

I have managed to stick a hole in my newly treated hood and it seems its weaker than I thought and I reckon I should change it while I have some cash !

I've not used them personally, but a number of the Porsche Boxster forum members have used them for replacement hoods and rear screens. Feedback is generally positive about service, price & quality.

They didn't want to know !

gave me Brian Turners number instead.... who I shall be visiting next week,

anyone used him before? he sounds like a true craftsman, he certainly got the sales talk down ... I am going for a recon frame while I am at it, no sense in half measures.

I will post photos once done.

Let us know what it costs with the recon frame.... Mine is getting a bit creaky now and the last animal who fitted the ragtop was obviously blind, so I'm thinking of just handing it over to someone who has a clue....

Russ I managed to only spend 3.5k out of my 5.5k budget on the purchase of Bluebelle, so the rest is for Hood, Exhaust, Dash and any other minor faults that come to light in the next few months,

I have already paid out for a Petrol pump, spare tyre, and service parts.

I have also bought a Water pump but the original shows no signs of the drip now.... well I got a spare it seems!

I won't have any money left soon, so no you can't have any.:P

Mine was £800 all in, frame/hood/fitting, from Brian last summer - excellent job, i'd certainly recommend him to others.

              cheers.......Andy

Cheers for that Robbie - not thought of that one, but I'm sure if the resultant effluvia of that rather odd procedure was java green I would befinding myself a surgeon......

Nah - it's because of that bloke Colin Stagg and how he was hounded and persecuted.... rather like my car's colour.....people don't seem to appreciate it:?

£800 all in which I think is fair considering the work involved.

That Ebay hood looks a bargain for someone, having fitted a few Vitesse hoods I am going to leave the Stag one well alone and will glady let Brian sort mine. I am going for Dark Blue, should look very nice.

Ibought aTurner hood and fitted it myself 6 years and 30,000 milesago. I am still very pleased with it.

I chose this one after looking at several replacement hoods that had been fitted to cars. The quality of the stitching and construction, spring steel inserts on the b-posts, dot stamped window and, of course, fit decided it for me.

You will not getlots ofexcess material at the rear and sides where the hood meets the bodywork. He intentionally cuts to fit in this areato avoid problems with the edges curling. I would happily buy another hood from him should I ever need one.

That is very neat, I can't help feeling the MKI hood would feel less claustrophobic than the MKII with the extra side windows, a job for another year!
