Just like to say thanks to the forum.
I had my engine rebuilt and since then the temp gauge was reading high, not in the red but very near the red. i did all the things you would do , changed the stat, changed the temp sender , jacked the front end of the car up and refilled with water, just in case I had a air lock. Still the same.
Then I had a read of the forum and notced that someone had come up with the idea that the voltage stabliser on the back of the speedo could be at fault , thus giving the wrong readings on the gauges. And gess what , I had changed the speedo just before I had the engine done.So I changed the stabliser, and took the car for a good two hour run yesterday and the temp gauge never moved above half way.
So the engine wasn't getting hot it was the gauge telling me porkies, thanks to the forum , it has saved me hours of messing around because I woud not have thought of that. Thanks once again.
