Hi Deano, i was with MCE insurance, their renewal quote came in at £139,after trying a few quotes online,i remembered a carrier bag that was given out at Stoneleigh from Heritage insurance,so filled in for a quote online and came back at £122,but recieved a phone call the next morning from them;they offered me a better quote of £111,garaged, 1500 miles per annum, agreed value £6000.Their phone no is;0845 373 4777
I did try the club insurance scheme, which come back at a similar price, but was still insisting on Thatchem cat 1 being fitted, despite being told at the last AGM that it was not now a requirement, when i quireied this they replied it was because i was in a high risk area:shock:!!!
best of luck!

Just don't make a claim guys. I have been with Peter Best for many years and they have been excellent at supporting me through a court claim and also for paying out when I smashed my last Stag, but the premiums went up steeply afterwards. Still cheaper than the opposition will quote with that claim hanging over me.
10k agreed value and 5k miles. With Peter Best this rose from £130 to £165 after the claim. Best I can get from the likes of Adrian Flux, Footman James, PD James and the Club scheme is over £200.

Hi Deano,
One year fully comp for me and my wife, with 11 yrs no claim bonus (not protected), social, domestic and pleasure use only, limited to 3000 miles per year, no voluntary excess . . . . . . . .£83.25!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure if they've made a boo-boo with this price, but I'm not complaining. I'm also a member of the IAM, don't know if that made a difference. Car also has Thatcham category 2 fitted.
Got it through a company called Sureterm Direct, which I found through one of the car insurance comparison sites - think it was Comparethemarket.com.

Hi Deano,
One thing to consider (if like me) your Stag is your only car - The SOC scheme will not cover you under it's Classic car policy. I discovered this, when I'd got rid of my daily driver car and wanted to renew my SOC Stag insurance.
I therefore, had to change to an alternative provider - who I'm very happy with (still in my first year).
The scheme I'm with provides me with unlimited mileage and use for business and private for £10 more than the SOC quoted me.
I hope that this helps.
Regards,
Frank

Hi Deano,
I have been with Footman James for many years and have found them to be very good. I have unlimited mileage and there was no bother whni I claimed because I dropped an oil can on the Stag:shock:

Hi Deano, I'm with Brian, Footman James, big company, pain to get hold of, but honourable and sensible premiums. The SOC deal doesn't suit me because I want unlimited mileage.
I cannot stress enough to you, and to Thom, you MUST have agreed value insurance ! If the old girl's totalled, it will be for a much smaller amount than it's worth, they will look at market values, which means the cheapest Stag they can find, agreed value doesn't provide a no claim bonus, but the values are calculated as if you had the maximum. Cheers, Martin.
