    Rad Fan Guard

    Hello all

Minor question for today..... Having taken my rad fan gaurd off it is completely covered in rust and underseal, plus a fair few edges have been eaten by the the rust-mite, so I cant actually tell what colour it is supposed to be.

Should it be sprayed body colour to be factory std? (1974 mkII)

    Thanks, Nigel

This was a question I agonised over a few months ago when I took mine off. It had been painted in stonechip black then overpainted in bodycolour. I ummed and aaahed thinking black one minute and bodycolour the next.

I can't even remember which I did it in the end and in fact, you can hardly see it on the car anyway :?

          Cheers

          Julian

Bugger mine's body colour; I'll need to get the spray paint out. Gloss or matt?

Took mine off last winter, and buffed all the rust of gave it a coat of Hammerite rust stabaliser, 3 x coats of red Hammerite rust proof primer and then 3 x coats of mat black. As Julian says you don't really see it and if you run someone over I don't think they will be interested EITHER

I've got some soft sheen, will that be OK?
