Doors

HI,

My question is has anybody got hold of MK1 doors and converted them to fit a MK2 car, ie by cutting out the door latch and surrounding metal and welding this part onto a MK1 door, of course after cutting out the Mk1 to accept the part.

Not seen the MK2 Stripped down yet but thought it might be the way to go, instead of getting a couple of doors reskinned, and I have a few MK1 doors and like everybody would like to cut the costs of repair.

Steve, rather than modify a (rarer) Mk1 door, why not advertise for a swap with some (more common) Mk2 doors, or justsell them and buy Mk2 doors?

Itwould be a lost easier than converting MK1 toMK2

Surely it can't be difficult as I have seen lots of Mk1's with Mk 2 doors on e-bay
